Feliz Dia de La Madre!

Mothers' Day is a huge holiday in Peru.  I mean super huge.  Think Christmas with 4th of July fireworks and a Thanksgiving turkey...and some Halloween candy.  Ok...its not quite that big but it is a widely celebrated day and Peruvian mamas are treated very well on El Dia de La Madre.  As initiation into Peruvian motherhood culture I got to experience my kiddos' very first school program.  Each of the classes at Rey de Reyes School performed a little musical number and then they had prize drawings and lots of food.  It was really awesome...especially seeing my two munchkins interacting with their classmates.  I couldn't be more proud of them!

Ice cream out in honor of Mothers' Day.
Apparently Mike and the kids are regulars at this little shop but it was my first time.
