To yeast or not to yeast?

This week we read "The Case of the Gasping Garbage" about a garbage can monster that turns out to be an overabundance of yeast and flour thrown out by a baker. The yeast releases carbon dioxide emitting gasps and burps from inside the garbage can. Scientists Doyle and Fossey are called in to discover what lurks under the lid. Taking advantage of my nearby kitchen, we decided to do our own yeast investigations.












And waiting.... (The kids thought it was cruel we did work while waiting for it to bake.)




Put it the oven and out pops bread! For some reason they didn't like our yeastless loaf on the right.
