A Spring Fling Thing

Friday was Spring Carnival...SAM Festival...The Spring Fling...I'm not sure we ever really settled on an official name.  But whatever the title, it was definitely fun!  Our kids had a great time chilling out and playing games after school.  I know my two came home soggy, tattooed, sugared-up and exhausted:)

Hear ye, hear ye!

We have entered Jamestown in our History class.  This week we became official town criers and yelled out the news.  John Rolfe and Pocahontas are to be married, John Smith has been captured and Jamestown burnt to the ground!  Not in that order of course, but there's a lot happening in the New World this week!

A bird, a balloon and a BOOM

I fully realize that I (Marcy) am usually the one updating so you all don't get to see a lot of the crazy, cool stuff Mike does in his classroom.  This week included a good bit of crazy and cool...including making bird and lizard tessellations, changing colors of chemicals and blowing up balloons (literally) with hydrogen.

And puppy makes 5...

Well we've gone and done it...we've adopted!  Meet Oreo, our newest family member.  This little girl has been hanging around for two weeks.  The whole time we told the kids...and me...not to get attached, she was a little stray that would wonder off soon.  Well...she didn't wonder off.  And once Mike found me bathing her in the shower, it was pretty much down hill from there.  This little sweetie likes cuddling with stolen clothing articles and barking at the ferocious looking dog that lives in our stove (aka her reflection).  Mike says she is still on probation.  Considering she spent the day cuddled up on the couch with me, I'd say she's official.
